let me know if you ever figure this out … it would make my job (professional fundraiser for a health charity) sooo much easier. :)

Karma, you’re right. I think you hit it with there are so many organizations or fundraisers vying for our attention and money we ARE expecting something else in return for that Karma. And the general consensus is everyone has (or wishes to spend) less money these days. So which do you pick? Who’s putting in the most thought and effort, being the most creative? What’s wrong with giving your change to the guy with the recorder over the guy sitting there with a sign?

Exactly, good points.

Just a note that I intentionally avoided using the word “karma.” For me that carries too many metaphysical/spiritual overtones. Instead, doing something with the hope of getting something (even if indirectly) is purely evolutionary. And karma, to me, suggests that by being a good person good things will happen to you, for some other reason than that people might just like you more. Which I don’t agree with.

Oh ok, i think we’re on the same page, it’s more just an general way for me to sum up that concept, rather than a spiritual thing. I like currency of kindness though ;)
